Q: What is A Tree for Two Cities?
A: A Tree for Two Cities is a charitable scheme set up to allow individuals and organisations to buy trees to offset their Edinburgh/Glasgow commute while at the same time supporting the excellent work of The Prince's Trust, Scotland.

Q: How much will it cost?
A: This depends on the emissions that you would like to offset. Our prices start from as little as £10 per tree. Where up to 10 trees are purchased, each tree costs £15, and where more than 10 trees are purchased, each tree costs £10.
The number of trees needed to offset your commute depends on how frequently you commute, the method of travel and for organisations the number of individuals commuting. Using our carbon calculator will allow you to easily work out how many trees are required to offset your commute.

Q: How many trees do you plan to plant and where will you plant them?
A: We aim to plant 10,000 trees. They will be planted in Central Scotland.

Q: How can I be sure the trees will be maintained in the future?
A: There is a commitment to maintaining the trees for 5 years after planting to ensure the trees establish. After 5 years the woodland will be maintained in line with standard forestry practices. This will help ensure that the woodland continues to grow and therefore continues to act as a carbon reservoir.
